St Day 8 Week Meditation Courses
Wednesday, August 30, 2017 @ 6:00 pm - Wednesday, February 28, 2018 @ 8:00 pm
Learn how to observe the natural breath in order to experience inner peace and to change negative thought patterns.
The purpose of technique, referred to by Patanjali as Prana Samyama, is to bring balance and harmony to the mind. In the long term it has the power to transform negative mind patterns leading to profound peace and happiness. Meditation on the natural breath is central to Yoga and Buddhist systems, as well as to contemporary mindfulness models.
The course offers the opportunity to learn and practice the technique in a focused and sustained way over 8 weeks with the support of an experienced and certified Traditional Yoga teacher to guide you through the progressive stages and answer any questions that may arise. It is taught in the tradition of Patanjali, through a series of guided meditations by Dr. Kumar, maintaining a direct link to the original instructions and scriptures in which they have been preserved for centuries.
Suitable for anyone over the age of 15 who wishes to learn a truly transformative meditation technique.
“Dr. Kumar’s meditation method almost instantly transformed my meditation practice. Vanessa is a truly inspiring teacher, able to guide you through the various stages. Highly recommend this course to anyone wishing to experience this life-enhancing practice.“ – Alice Day
“I have been meditating for some years, but it’s been invaluable to hear Vanessa explain the profound thinking behind this particular technique and guide us gently through each step. Sharing the experience with a class really takes it to a different level. I have found the course both deeply relaxing and enriching – and we’re only half way through it!” – Katie Stephens
Course led by Anna Butler
Now very much inspired and motivated by the positive changes in her ability to mindfully respond rather than react to life, Anna trained as Traditional Yoga meditation teacher in the summer of 2017 in order to share this beautifully simple technique with others.
After living ‘happily’ with underlying stress and anxiety for most of her life, a sudden physical and emotional shut down in 2015 caused Anna to invest time in really understanding how individuals can make significant changes to their own health and wellbeing. She believes in health and wellbeing without borders and is committed to sharing the tools available to us all, for the benefit of all. Anna is also a qualified NADA protocol acupuncturist and particularly appreciates the ‘community clinic’ and ‘gift economy’ that both practices embody. Anna is a mum and a fabric fanatic by day, and is running small community classes in Cornwall.
