Brockley 8 Week Meditation Course
May 31 @ 7:30 pm - July 19 @ 9:00 pm
Learn how to observe the natural breath in order to experience inner peace and to change negative thought patterns.
The purpose of technique, referred to by Patanjali as Prana Samyama, is to bring balance and harmony to the mind. In the long term it has the power to transform negative mind patterns leading to profound peace and happiness. Meditation on the natural breath is central to Yoga and Buddhist systems, as well as to contemporary mindfulness models.
The course offers the opportunity to learn and practice the technique in a focused and sustained way over 8 weeks with the support of an experienced and certified Traditional Yoga teacher to guide you through the progressive stages and answer any questions that may arise. It is taught in the tradition of Patanjali, through a series of guided meditations by Dr. Kumar, maintaining a direct link to the original instructions and scriptures in which they have been preserved for centuries.
Suitable for anyone over the age of 15 who wishes to learn a truly transformative meditation technique.
“Dr. Kumar’s meditation method almost instantly transformed my meditation practice. Vanessa is a truly inspiring teacher, able to guide you through the various stages. Highly recommend this course to anyone wishing to experience this life-enhancing practice.“ – Alice Day
“I have been meditating for some years, but it’s been invaluable to hear Vanessa explain the profound thinking behind this particular technique and guide us gently through each step. Sharing the experience with a class really takes it to a different level. I have found the course both deeply relaxing and enriching – and we’re only half way through it!” – Katie Stephens
Course led by Laura Kinnunen and Lisa Forde
Laura trained as Traditional Yoga meditation teacher in early 2017 and finds the practice immensely beneficial for easing anxiety and finding balance in the hectic pace of London living. Laura is a qualified Nordic Walking and Yoga teacher, and works primarily with inactive adults improving the physical, mental and emotional wellbeing of her clients. Laura is looking forward to sharing this practice with others as well as deepening her own practice by attending the summer retreat with Dr Kumar this July.
Lisa has practised meditation for last 10 years and has spent much time in India and Nepal studying Buddhism and Yoga and deepening her practice. She recently discovered Traditional yoga and attended a meditation weekend course in Oxford and then went on to do the teacher training in London. She really benefited from the precise structure of the teachings as it gave her much more clarity in her own practice. Lisa is really looking forward to teaching others about this wonderful technique and sharing all of the benefits of meditation.
