Flintshire 8 Week Meditation Course

Learn how to observe the natural breath in order to experience inner peace and to change negative thought patterns.
The purpose of technique, referred to by Patanjali as Prana Samyama, is to bring balance and harmony to the mind. In the long term it has the power to transform negative mind patterns leading to profound peace and happiness. Meditation on the natural breath is central to Yoga and Buddhist systems, as well as to contemporary mindfulness models.
The course offers the opportunity to learn and practice the technique in a focused and sustained way over 8 weeks with the support of an experienced and certified Traditional Yoga teacher to guide you through the progressive stages and answer any questions that may arise. It is taught in the tradition of Patanjali, through a series of guided meditations by Dr. Kumar, maintaining a direct link to the original instructions and scriptures in which they have been preserved for centuries.
Suitable for anyone over the age of 15 who wishes to learn a truly transformative meditation technique.

Course led by Joan Keig
Joan first discovered Yoga as a teenager (before mats were invented, (Oh yes!), and rediscovered her passion for Yoga as an adult with 2 young children.
She has been practicing many yogic styles for well over 30 years, including Hatha and Iyenga until discovering Dru Yoga in 2013/14 when she decided to train as a Dru Yoga teacher qualifying in summer 2016. Joan runs 2 weekly Yoga classes in Buckley, Flintshire.
She first met Dr. Kumar in 2008/9 and attended the first of many workshops with him and later attending meditation weekends establishing a regular home meditation practice.
In April 2017 Joan trained as a Traditional Yoga Meditation teacher and runs blocks of 8 week courses in Prana Samyama.
Joan is passionate about sharing Yoga and Meditation with as many people as possible to help them to uncover the very best version of themselves in a light supportive manner.

When: Thursday 24th May – Thursday 19th July 2018 – No class Thursday 28th June.
Times: 5.45pm to 7.30pm first session, then the following 7 sessions 5.45pm to 7pm
Price: £48. for 8 sessions or happy to split payments into 3 x £16.
What to bring: Please bring a blanket for yoga nidra as the body can cool down during relaxation.
Yoga mat or blanket. Joan has a few spare Mats.
A bottle of water.
A meditation cushion or stool, or 2 cushions or pillows. Chairs are available at the venue if you prefer.
