Learn how to observe the natural breath in order to experience inner peace and to change negative thought patterns.
The purpose of technique, referred to by Patanjali as Prana Samyama, is to bring balance and harmony to the mind. In the long term it has the power to transform negative mind patterns leading to profound peace and happiness. Meditation on the natural breath is central to Yoga and Buddhist systems, as well as to contemporary mindfulness models.
The course offers the opportunity to learn and practice the technique in a focused and sustained way over 8 weeks with the support of an experienced and certified Traditional Yoga teacher to guide you through the progressive stages and answer any questions that may arise. It is taught in the tradition of Patanjali, through a series of guided meditations by Dr. Kumar, maintaining a direct link to the original instructions and scriptures in which they have been preserved for centuries.
Suitable for anyone over the age of 15 who wishes to learn a truly transformative meditation technique.

Vanessa has practiced yoga for the past fourteen years and trained as a teacher with Seasonal Yoga in 2014. She lives near Farnham in Surrey and teaches mixed ability classes. She became interested in meditation and was introduced to Traditional Yoga by a fellow teacher. She attended her first Awareness Meditation weekend at the beginning of 2015 taught by Anna Bhushan and Natasha Curran as well as a workshop with Dr. Kumar later the same year. Inspired by the teachers, Dr. Kumar’s vast knowledge and experience and the ethos of the Yoga Healing Foundation, she trained as a Traditional Yoga teacher in July 2016. She loves sharing the positive and life affirming benefits of this technique with her students. Vanessa says that since practicing in this tradition she has felt a sense of inner harmony, feels less stressed and is a better mum to her children, cats and puppy!
